Sorry I didnt have a clever title for this 1, not everyone bats .1000 *shrug* I cracked under the pressure sue me, I can be human too. Back to the topic at hand, nicknames are kinda like titles and I feel after my rant on titles I needed to touch on this topic a little too.
Now the thing about nicknames are we give them ourselves, so this is why I usually enjoy them however for every positive theres a negative and the fact is that not all of us are particularly creative with our nicknames, or conversely are TOO creative and therefore the nicknaming process and aftermath jus proves to confuse the holy hell out of everyone. Ive always enjoyed nicknames simply because of my title hatred but the problem was, like what I do with many good things in my life, I overindulged and everyone and everything got nicknames to the point it was genuinely difficult to keeping up with the insanity (which is a normal problem in my life) and matching the names and stories to the people. I say was like I still dont do that now (see Young Jeff, Curtis, Streets, Diva, Babafriedchicken, JPM, Hibachi, and the list goes on and no that isnt a nickname too)
This also goes for places and things as well but the point of the post (at least what I think it was when I started it) was to expose how some nicknaming can be good and fun and necessary whereas some become.... quite frankly awkward and then supplementary titles. For example certain areas and people (Town, Jungle, Gully, Batcave) have garnered quite unfortunate views because of past instances and now their names and supplemental nicknames get immediate "ooooo :S" reactions (I had to show the face too just so you got the full gist of it lol)
So again the point, here was that nicknames hold some potential to be extremely powerful or just fall to the weighside and as a great man once said....

So will you be starting from scratch with some of the nickname choices you've/we've made. Will so many young men and women be getting their names back??
ReplyDelete......JPM isn't a nickname fool, it's my initials lol.
ReplyDeleteO hell no I/we have spent far too much time on them altho some will be granted their government titles back most of those were far too clever or hilarious to ever let go of, and we owe it to ourselves and more importantly to them not to let that happen
ReplyDeleteWell technically speaking JP is your nickname and those are your initials and that doesnt make that any less of a nickname and JPM is MY nickname for you BECAUSE your name has been based on ur initials :D jus in case u were ever confused
ReplyDeleteWhere is MY nickname, Jelonki! Don't you know that I hurt?
ReplyDeletelol Mike it nickname is Mike, its a short form of your longer name being Michael altho I could call you The Supply Teacher Killer lol
