Noteable Quoteables - Dalai Lama
Yet another new segment Im debuting on this blog (Im full of somethin lately). Unlike the other newbie this one is about inspiration and building up rather than shock at terrible ignorance. Occasionally you'll find some quotes that make you go "HEY...that really helped me" admist all the lame fortune cookie quotes out there. What Im going to do is stumble (and occasionally research) some quotes that make skeptical ass me go wOw and share them with you jus to make hear ur thought processes.
1st up we have a quote I stumbled on via Facebook which is known for its occasional inspirational messages as well as its spam, stalking, and stupid (yet somehow addictive....not that I play them) games.
“When asked “What surprises him about Humanity the most?”, the Dalai Lama answered:
“Man…. Because he sacrifices his health in order to make Money. Then he sacrifices Money to recuperate his health. And then he is so anxious about the Future that he does not enjoy the Present; the result being that he does not live in the Present or the Future; he lives as if he is never going to die, and then dies having never really lived.”
I could tell you what I think this quote means but I think that its pretty straightforward. What I will do however is tie this into a movie I watched recently (50/50) that hit surprisingly close to home. This young gentleman is a quiet unassuming guy whose back jus hurts and then he finds out he has cancer. I dont wanna ruin the movie for you but essentially in finding it out he's able to see his life much better and realize how much he hasnt done from what he has with the help of his wacky sidekick and foxy counsellor he tries to do as much in what little time he assumes he has left. I know 2 Easy doesnt have cancer but we can all relate to feeling unfilled in some way or another and being apart of the overall human rat race that is life...not to mention his parents remind me a lot of mine... 1 Smothering the other distant :S
Your Note from this Quote: Live for the now and make sure to dedicate as much time as you do in preparation for your future, to enjoying your present.
What Do YOU Think??
