How Easy Is It?

Well hello there! No I didn't forget you guys. I kinda feel like T.I. promising that I wont get disappear anymore then fading into the background for months on end (no my fingers aren't broken... I kno I could have called) but I have a good excuse reason this time, my P.I.C and I have dedicated a Herculean effort towards legitimizing our show The Burning Insomniac Inquiry (www.theburningis.com) among our other projects (I kno right, we do stuff) and so I haven't really had the time nor chance to sit down and give you my brain goo. Ive had several things I wanted to talk about for a while but since Ive been working, filming, or tryin to get something called sleep (ya I kno I sold out) I haven't had time for you guys....  Ok well pity party over! To the point! Its why you guys still (VERY sparingly) read this thing.

I wanted to speak on my (most prevalent) alter ego 2 Easy *waves* Im sure many of you missed the volume (what we refer to episodes as) where illDapoe and briefly I explained the origin of our nicknames and thats fine cause I kind of wanted to go into a bit more detail (keep in mind I'm lazy and haven't done this for a while so I use the word "detail" quite loosely)


2 Easy was a name I did in fact give myself and usually Im not a fan of persona's being made that way but Ive made many an exception in the past (see: Black Mamba) Anywhoo I so happened to see a basketball player I liked (and illDapoe had a woodie for, Baron Davis) being called it (Too EZ, different spelling) while shittin all over the best street ballers in LA and I said that is ridiculously cool and its going to be me from now on. The subtle egotism of it yet its simplicity as its being said.... I was hooked. Interestingly enough rapper The Game had a pretty accurate good nickname too: Loose Cannon (cause that nigga CRAZY!) So for the next several years weeks I kept using it whenever I did anything I found cool (and for many a thing that definitely wasn't) till it was impossible NOT to associate with me and 2 Easy was born. Its always interesting to explain to people though, oddly enough most guys get it (being that they hear it when Im bussin their ass on the court) but almost every girl makes a comment on my sexual promiscuity and chuckles to herself (I am not that Easy damnit....yea Im stickin with that) Over time this jus became as much apart of my personality as the basketball, the dreads, the comedy, being from Trinidad & Tobago etc.

As is the case with some things it took a while to catch on but with relentless promotion (www.itsjus2easy.blogspot.com ... tell your friends) it got there (and is still gettin there) 2 Easy is my on air, on court, bigger than life persona. The outgoing life of the party guy whose big personality is only matched by his big smile. Usually, Im quite reserved and quiet a guy (please dont call shenanegans its actually true... for the most part) and 2 Easy is the guy who is usually the conversation starter who then leaves Jel holding the bag (that he more often than not drops) Im sorry but the vast majority of you annoy me and I honestly dont have the patience or energy or interest to maintain the friendships that 2 Easy starts, that fuckin guy. This could potentially be a tangent but hey isnt all schizophrenia? Point here is jus the seperation of church and state. I like my boisterous loudness as much as the next guy but like Clark Kent with Superman I need the ability to switch back into being the somewhat mild mannered unnoticed reporter jus to maintain what little sanity I have left. Being the star or "on" all the time isnt and shouldnt be how anyone lives, it isnt healthy.

I often realize I also have said and written (hell its how I end my blogs) "ItsJus2Easy" and I realize how that may confuse the lot of you some "Is he 2 Easy or ItsJus2Easy?" (legitimate questions) and here is the answer: 1 is a name and 1 is merely a catch phrase or tagline. Now the catch phrase isnt meant to gloat about how easy life is for me (although many a time things can and have been) because quite frankly no ones life is easy, circumstances have a way of making us all their bitch at one point or another. Its moreso jus a reminder of who it is that is doing whatever I may be doing at the time (ie: Having a Public Service Announcement that allows one to re-introduce themselves) Its a very nicely done play on words if I do say so myself (and I do). 2 Easy/Its Jus 2 Easy is my brand. Its my way of making sure I live, become and jus AM better in ever facet of my life and yours (should ours life lines intertwine in some way... all my Hercules fans will understand this) and its what drives and motivates me so that I can say at the the end of the day..... Well by now you should already know right?

This clip is now my new ringtone, not the whole thing jus a cut from 1:11 in to 1:25 cause really.... its how easy? .....I dont wanna play anymore
